Did you know that:
43% of employees are sleep deprived.
72% of mothers are exhausted and overloaded, and sleep deprivation has impacted their mental health.
55% of exhausted mothers feel that they cannot do their job under sleep deprivation.
(Bounty UK 2026)
Research by the University of Manchester analyzing physiological stress indicators found that full-time working mothers with two children had 40% higher levels of chronic stress biomarkers compared to childless women.
Parents of pre-school-aged children report the highest incidence of burnout warning signs (86%)
And, sleep deprivation costs employers £1248 per employee annually, which could be £124,800 per 100 employees. (Sleep Action)
According to data from a Deloitte UK Survey, 64% of working mothers, and 38% of working fathers feel overwhelmed, and 66% of mothers, and 47% of fathers experience burnout due to a lack of personal time.
A lot of these statistics come down to parental exhaustion. And there is a lot you can do as an employer to help build a focused, rested and supported workforce.
Because the real juggle of raising a family, plus building a career is hard. But when you are sleep deprived, burned out and juggling everything? It is almost impossible. And no one has taught parents how to do it.
Let's be the change.
